Here we will tell the story of the beginnings of our church and how we became what we are today.

History Of New Greater Deliverance Center For All People...

For The Steps Of A Good Man Are Ordered By The Lord (Psalms 37:23)

On November 11th, theses steps began for a child born to Young and Lillian Owens of Mullins, SC named John. He would grow to be a man of purpose and dedicated to the will and plan of God. In 1965 as a young man John’s steps carried him to the north settings in Newark, New Jersey where he met Lottie Douglas and they married in 1960. To this union two daughters were born Denise and Renee. Upon accepting Christ in 1965 he became affiliated with the Deliverance Evangelistic Center of Newark, New Jersey, under the leadership and guidance of the late Apostle Arturo Skinner. There he became educated in God’s word and grew spiritually to do the will of the Lord. He served at the D. E. C faithfully as an usher and was later ordained as an elder. Elder Owens served until 1970 when God spoke to Apostle Skinner and told Elder Owens it was time to move south. Elder Owens and his family settled in Florence, SC. He continued to lift up the name of the Lord by having revivals in his hometown of Mullins, SC. This is when God spoke to him telling him to remain in the south and reach the lost souls. Pastor Owens first church, the Florence Deliverance Evangelistic Church was established in Florence, SC. In 1972 the home of sister Maebelle Moody was used for worship services. The Lord was moving and great things were beginning to happen to our congregation. The location was moved to Georgetown Street and later to 604 Godbolt Street. The name of the church was changed to Deliverance Church For All People. While there many souls were saved and bodies were healed. In these early churches God used Elder Owens and Evangelist Lottie Owens greatly to win souls. On Sunday September 25th, 1988 the bright star of Evangelist Lottie Owens was dimmed as she departed to be in the Lord’s presence. It was a great lost to the church, but a great gain for God. Rev. Owens continued to stand on the promise of God and preached the gospel. On April 10th, 1992 continuing to follow Gods steps, God in all his wisdom united Pastor Owens and Evangelist Mattie Owens together, an outstanding woman of virtue and a faithful member of Deliverance. Together they continued the work and vision of winning souls for Christ. They have committed their lives to preaching, teaching, and reaching souls. Under divine inspiration , Pastor and Evangelist Owens saw the need for a larger church. God blessed this growing ministry with the blue-prints and name for the new church they would soon build. God through te Holy Spirit provided and the new church was constructed. Elder and Evangelist Mattie Owens following the steps ordered by God led the members to 113 Martin Luther King Drive into the New Greater Deliverance Church For All People of Marion, SC. God through his son Jesus Christ is still directing the steps of this good man John, Elder, Reverend, Pastor and ordained Bishop. Since being at our present location God has taken us to higher heights and given Bishop Owens a greater anointing. Bishop Owens has a vision of reaching the masses. Today Bishop Owens is reaching multitudes VIA television, which can be seen every Sunday morning at 7:30am until 7:30am and the radio broadcast on WJAY 1280 bi-weekly. In addition, we are spreading the good news through our quarterly messenger magazine "The New Greater Deliverance Church Messenger." Today Bishop and Evangelist Owens faithfully follow the steps laid before them by Lord, to reach the lost and complete the vision.
